शनिवार वाडा
Inside the fortified walls of Shaniwar Wada, the central axis welcomes the main entrance: The entrance facade of the 'outer quadrangle' or 'बाहेरचा चौक'. In the midst of two outer fountains the entry led us to the outer court of Shaniwar Wada. With waiting areas, gard rooms, office areas it was the administrative part of the Wada. The height of the structure was up to 2-3 floors. At the back of this square was the central or 'inner quadrangle', 'आतला चौक'. The seven story structure was at the back of the south east of the Wada known as the 'big wada' or the 'थोरला वाडा', visible from all sides due to the height.
