Gopuram on the South-East of Virupaksha temple as the entrance of Hemakura Temple Complex. Leads towards a group of Jain temples and a Shiva temple. Story suggests the Hemakuta Shiva temple was constructed for continuing every day rituals if the main Virupaksha temple is flooded in rainy season.
